Recreate The Empire Awards with SEVENTEEN

Last night's Empire Awards were a star studded affair with a host of celebs polished to red carpet perfection. But why do they get to have all the fun? For this post I have teamed up with SEVENTEEN's fabulous MUA Vanesa Guallar (who actually did my makeup for a magazine shoot last year) to show you how you can recreate our favourite looks at home, and at a fraction of the price using SEVENTEEN cosmetics. Scroll down to see how you can also win a special SEVENTEEN goodie bag!

Sarah Harding

Get ready to glow!
The look: Striving for that healthy summer glow but still wanting to dazzle? Double up with Sarah Harding’s fresh-faced look and dark framed eyes. The perfect look for your spring/summer parties!

Vanesa says: With this look, it’s best to work on the eyes first so you can clean the under eye area of any black, leaving your skin clean and ready to apply foundation. SEVENTEEN Stay Time Foundation is brilliant to give skin an even look, with a great lasting finish. To enhance your look apply SEVENTEEN Cheek Stamps in Star-Struck to your cheeks and forehead. For the eyes, apply SEVENTEEN Kohl Eye Pencil in Black along the bottom of the eye line, then apply a soft eye shadow on the top of your eyelid, (try SEVENTEEN Solo Eye Shadow in Ivory Coast) and finish by applying two coats of Backlash Mascara in Black. For the lips opt for a nude shade such as SEVENTEEN Stay Pout Lipstick in Going Steady for a natural look.

Sophie Turner

Red alert!
The look: Ever dared to wear red? Be bold and take control with Sophie Turner’s sensuous red lips! Paired up with soft eyes, this claret lip trend will give you the confidence to wow friends on a night out and you’ll be sure to pick up the compliments!

Vanesa says: Begin by applying a thin layer of SEVENTEEN On the Spot Foundation to cover any blemishes. Then use a soft brown pencil to draw a thin line on top of your eye line, and softly brush some pink eye shadow on the top eyelid. SEVENTEEN Solo Eye Shadow in Statuesque would work perfectly. Finish the eyes with a generous coat of SEVENTEEN Super Lash mascara. For the lips, choose a bright red lipstick such as SEVENTEEN Mirror Shine Lipstick in Roasted Red and apply it with a lip brush for precision and staying power. Finish the look by powdering the area with SEVENTEEN Miracle Matte Loose Powder.

Annabelle Wallis

Sophisticated glamour!

Vanesa says: Apply SEVENTEEN Photo Flawless Foundation to achieve a flawless professional finish that lasts for up to 24 hours. Then to achieve a sun-kissed glow, sweep SEVENTEEN Instant Glow Bronzing Rocks all over the face. To create definition and a nice glow to the cheek bones and top of the eyelid, apply a small amount of SEVENTEEN Skin Wow Primer and blend.

For the eyes, use the SEVENTEEN Neptune Trio to create a smoky eye look. Using the medium colour and sweeping across the center area of the lid and apply the darker shade towards the lash line. Apply the lighter gold shade into the inner corner of your eye and below the eyebrow to lift the eye. Then apply a thin layer of SEVENTEEN High Drama Liquid Eyeliner to the top lid and finish with two coats of SEVENTEEN Blow Out Mascara in Blackest Black. Finish this look by applying SEVENTEEN Berry Crush Lip Stain in Bombshell.

I hope you like our top picks of the night! If you want to try these looks out for yourself please leave a comment below letting us know which is your favourite and you could WIN a SEVENTEEN goodie bag to help you recreate that red carpet glam!

Leonor Greyl

With humble beginnings in a single Paris salon and with more than 45 years in the business of haircare Leonor Greyl is definitely a brand that has stood the test of time! Specialising in hair treatments using only high-quality, environmentally-safe, natural ingredients like honey, bamboo, sunflower, and chamomile with blends of delicate aromas and plant extracts, Leonor Greyl products give hair brilliance, glamour, beauty…and most importantly health!

In fact it was the first brand to incorporate essential vitamins like A and E in their shampoos. Their signature, vitamin-rich Wheat Germ Oil was the first oil developed that foams on contact with water to revitalize limp hair, purify oily scalps, and fight the effects of environmental factors on hair health. Where a harsh, chemical treatment for dandruff was the norm, Leonor Greyl was the first to formulate a coal tar-free dandruff shampoo, gentle enough for everyday use. The main ingredient used was propolis - a powerful, natural antibiotic, that is a resin gathered by bees from tree bark and leaves.
Leonor Greyl is popular with hair stylists and celebs alike, so much so that it was recently used in a number of gorgeous red carpet looks, such as Samantha Barks' chic updo and Jennifer Lawrence's Bafta style. To help create these styles Johnnie Sapong, coiffure extraordinaire, has put together a how to guide that's super easy to follow:

Leonor Greyl products used to create the look above:

E'CLAT NATUREL, LAIT LUMINESCENCE, GEL A LA KERATINE, HUILE SECRET DE BEAUTE, SERUM DE SOIE, LAQUE SOUPLE.

1) Apply Lait Luminescence to dry hair layering on Serum de Soie for an extra soft, nourished feel. Using a paddle brush, dry in the product into hair using a hairdryer with a nozzle attachment.

2) Once product is fully absorbed, use a tooth brush and gently brush hair back sleek and smooth. Pull hair into a ponytail and fast with elastic. Smooth over Huile Secret de Beaute over the tail.

3) To create the bun(chignon) split the ponytail in two and create a rope braid to wrap around the base to create the bun(chignon).

4) Twist the ponytail, then pin into a bun. Finish the look using Laque Souple, lock down any fly-
away using Gel a la Keratine mixed with Ecat Naturel which can be applied using a tint brush for an accurate application.

When asked what his celeb clients think of LG products Johnnie told us that they 'love the feeling of lg products! They feel like its giving good nourishment for the hair at the same time as not over loading with silicones, the fragrance and how it works on hair, they have a love for the Leonor Greyl products.'
Have you ever tried any Leonor Greyl products? I was recently sent the hair oil (Huile de Palme) and have loved using it as a deep conditioning product prior to shampooing. It provides great hydration for my over processed hair and smells great too!

Madonna Truth or Dare

The ultimate chameleon Madonna has released her new fragrance Truth or Dare exclusively in Selfridges and I was lucky to have a little sample to test out. The first thing that really drew me in is the amazing bottle designed by Fabien Baron. I love the creamy white porcelain effect against the angular shape and beading detail. It really stands out on the shelf and would look beautiful on any glamorous dressing table.
The fragrance itself is quite surprising and not something that I would necessarily would have associated with Madonna or any celebrity perfume. The scent combines heady florals with wood and vanilla to create a sweet, slightly powdery, evocative and lingering fragrance.
Madonna's inspiration came from her mother's perfume, which contains a strong essence of Gardenias and Tuberose. The Gardenia is definitely prevalent in this scent, along with notes of white lily petals, caramelised amber and musk. The fragrance develops on the skin over time and really matures, fading into a deeper scent that lasts.
Truth or Dare is exclusive to Selfridges and can be found on their website for £25 for 30ml, £32 for 50ml and £42 for £75ml here.

Have you seen Madonna's new fragrance? Are you tempted to try it out? xxx

I can do it like a brother, do it like a duuuude

One of my most requested celebrity inspired tutorials is to recreate Jessie J's signature makeup. I absolutely love her music, attitude and her individuality. I love the way she experiments with her makeup, style, hair... and even though a large proportion of it is not to my personal taste, I appreciate the artistic qualities and, of course, the fun factor!
For this Jessie J  look I decided to go super dramatic pairing a Swarovski crystal enhanced black smokey eye with a vibrant orange lip.

Lauren Conrad Waves with BaByliss Waving Wand

A few weeks ago I was invited to film a hair tutorial video with Babyliss to recreate Lauren Conrad's beautiful signature waves with the expert help of hairdresser to the stars Beverly C. As you all know I am a huge fan of the original conical wand, so I was excited to see how the waving wand would compare. I was happy to learn that it is just as easy to use, and creates beautiful, deep crested waves in minutes that are absolutely ideal for the summer.

Lauren Conrad is famous for her trademark style, always looking effortlessly, but perfectly polished. We had so many inspirational looks to chose from, but decided on an easy loose braid and relaxed waves that could work on any hair type or length. The side braid is especially great for those who are growing out a fringe!
I was really happy with the finished look as it's so quick to do and holds really well throughout the day. If you want to see more videos in the 'Get The Look' series please do check out the BaByliss facebook page here, and if you could 'like' my video it would mean a lot to me too :).

I really hope you enjoy the tutorial and get the chance to try it out! xxx
