New Shoes!?

Even though I am currently trying to control my spending (trying being the operative word) I can never let a Kurt Geiger sale pass me by without at least one iddy biddy purchase. After my friend made me count the number of shoes I own that I have either never worn, or only worn once, my shopping guilt has trippled, but when I saw these beauties I decided that it would be a credit card kind of day. Ooops!
These are the Kurt Geiger Assemble stilettos (now £85 down from £120 here). I love the high, elegant heel, the bow detail and the deep cut.
My justification was that they are perfect for work and go with all my little office ensembles... but unfortunately I am now staring in lust at the glittery white and blue versions too. I need professional help!!
Am I alone in my shoe obsession? Have you got your eye on anything in the Kurt Geiger sale this season? Do you know a shoe addiction when you see one? xxx

Browsing ASOS

I have had a bit of a love/hate relationship with ASOS recently. From the modest beginnings of the website I was obsessed with it, recommended it to all my friends, and browsed through it during more luchtimes than I would care to admit to. However, as they have expanded I feel that the quality of many of the products has deteriorated somewhat, and although this is understandable with the sheer volume of products on the site, it still seems a shame. Though there are some great pieces to be found it is a little too hit and miss for my liking. I have all too often dragged a bulky box home only to try everything on and promptly send it all back. After a botched delivery... or seven (they delivered the wrong bag thrice, which was actually a present so rather marred the celebrations) and a lack of a timely reconciliation I vowed to bid farewell to ASOS for a little while. However, while I'm sitting here perusing the new ASOS magazine I can't help but add a few things to my basket, so here are some of my favourites on the site at present...
Midi Dress with Pussybow - £40.  Love! Mad men inspired, gorgeous colour, office appropriate hemline. This one has already made its way into my basket ;).
Full Midi Skirt in Oversized Heritage Check - £50. Amazing for Autumn, would love to wear this with super high wedges to contrast the seasons.
Midi Skirt with Equestrian Print - £45. A classic, Gucci-esque print updated with pleats.
Chiffon Sleeve Panel Top - £25. A lot of burgundy here! The chiffon sleeves are beautiful and feminine.
Pussybow Chain Print Dress - £45. Gorgeous chain print and flattering draping. Would anyone guess this is just £45?

Have you spotted anything exciting on ASOS recently?

Over sharing?

I hope that lingerie posts are not too much over sharing for you all, but to be perfectly honest I think underwear is very important! It can definitely make or break any outfit and influence the way you feel, whether it be sexy, confident, or ready for the challenge of the treadmill.

When I was little I was told that it was important to wear matching underwear just in case I was in an accident. Now I do not remember who said this, or why, or whether they were joking, but from then on I became convinced that if ever I was knocked over by a bus I would definitely not want a washed too many times bra and granny pants exposed (as if this would be my main worry.. hmm). Perhaps it was one of those phrases that has somehow stuck in my subconscious as I always feel somehow incomplete if I do not match, or at least make an effort to do so...

No matter what anyone says, I think lingerie should be designed for women, not for men (though I have nothing against Ann Summers, it definitely fits a gap in the market). Any woman will appreciate a beautiful, well designed and structured bra far more than a man who just wants to know what is underneath it. Therefore, lingerie is something I always buy and wear for myself. I really don't care if that includes Bridgette Jones style control pants, because at the end of the day, if they make me feel better about my body, and make a knockout dress look the way I want it to, then tough luck to all those who may snigger. On the other end of the spectrum, even if I am wearing the plainest clothes, or a stuffy business suit, knowing that underneath it all I am still my girlie self in pretty, feminine lingerie certainly gives me more confidence.

So with this in mind I wanted to share my recent purchases.

When I saw this bra sitting all lonely in the Oasis sale rack I had to have it, despite the lack of matching panties :*( and a smaller size, it was too cute to pass up! I really love the pattern and the lace detail in the centre. I wore it the other day with a plain red dress and the straps, with the blue and pop of red flowers, looked fantastic and really added to the outfit, without giving it a tacky "my bra is showing and it does not match" look.

Today I went to check out the Harrods sale and after hours of drooling over shoes I wandered into the lingerie department. Agent Provocateur immediately caught my eye as they have such beautiful, unique pieces, as well as some scary looking PVC that I will not elaborate on.. eeek!! I have never bought anything from them before, although I have been lusting after their £200 corsets for some time (pictured at top)! Unfortunately none of these or their gorgeous silk dressing gowns were on sale, however they did have some huge reductions. I am talking about bras for £25 here ladies, and a swimsuit for £30... that is Topshop prices!!

Straight away I spotted this Monika set because it was wearable, yet had the cutest detailing on the shoulders. I have never seen a bra with little cap sleeves before. Plus they had it in a D-cup.. hurray!!

If you have a chance then do check the sale out and in the meantime here are a few photos from their website (note how the models are not over inflated for once!) that I have added to my wishlist for when I win the lottery...
This is the most indulgent beauty cabinet, at a staggering £2500 *gasp*!!Do you like high-end lingerie? Is it something you would spend money on? What do you ladies think?

Shopping :)

I promised myself to be good this weekend and not buy any more makeup. I failed, but not too badly :).
I got the YSL Rouge Volupte no.7- lingerie pink, thank you Lorraine. It is such a pretty pale pink and the formulation of the lipstick is incredible. It is love :).
I also got the palest lavender (129) lipstick from Barry M, I love lavender lipstick and I think this colour is more wearable than lavender whip. What do you guys think?
I also bought an eyeliner from GOSH in green boost. I love the formulation of these as they are super creamy and soft, much like the Urban Decay 24/7 liners. I thought that this pale green was so unusual, and I love it on the lower lashline :).
The website describes these as follows:
GOSH VELVET TOUCH EYELINER belongs to a new generation of semi-permanent make-up. It does not smudge. It is 100% waterproof, long lasting, and resists almost anything. It has excellent coverage and a smooth, soft quality. GOSH Velvet Touch Eye Liner is soft and easy to apply. It contains vitamin-E and Jojoba Oil to care for your delicate skin, however it does not contain animal or mineral oils. It is also fragrance-free to prevent allergic reactions.
Sounds good!!
My darling boyfriend also got me an early present for the 8th March, which is a sort of 'Women's Day' in Russia. Any excuse for presents huh? He got me this cute gold necklace from Disney Couture that I saw on Lindsay Lohan. It says 'Fairest of them all' and has a red apple. Who doesn't love Snow White and Disney in general?

26 shadow and blush pallette

I was very excited to find this palette on ebay for just £7.00 and only £6.59 for shipping from HK (seller- abestlife). I had seen many reviews of it and was eyeing it up on coastal scents for quite some time, however it was $21.95 on the coastal scents website and shipping prices from there to the UK are always ludicrous. So I ordered this palette along with the 10 blush palette and it came a few days ago. After swatching the shadows I was really looking forward to using them as there were some interesting colours and the payoff was pretty good. I even filmed a tutorial yesterday morning to post on my channel.

However, the shock came when I got home last night. I had been getting a strange headache all evening and my eyes felt sore and puffy. Not thinking anything of it I decided to just get to bed, but when I started taking my eye makeup off I noticed that the skin on my eyelids was red and patchy. I had obviously had an allergic reaction to these shadows and my eyelids were very sore and inflamed. Even this morning they were looking somewhat puffy and discoloured.

I wanted to make this post just to tell you guys to be careful! Of course I know the dangers of buying makeup on the Internet as you can never guarantee it will be of a good quality, especially when the price is so low. So, I guess getting a bargain is not always worth it. Do any of you have this palette and have you had any problems? Please let me know :).

Purchases

I finally got my MAC Pro card! Yay!! Though it has not actually arrived yet as it apparently "flies from Canada" (I just have this image of the card with wings flying accross the ocean.. teehee), but I am on the system at last, so I went on a little spree :).

I purchased the new Studio Sculpt foundation in NW15, as I have read so many good reviews, and since my skin has been very dry recently with all this cold weather I thought I would give it a go! I also got some water based mixing medium for use with pigments, glitter and what not, as well as all that glitters eyeshadow. I really wanted the 214 brush, but they had sold out at the pro store :(. Does anyone know if they have it in other London stores?.

I then went to Boots and could not resist picking up the REVLON colourstay foundation too. Naughty really since I just got one at MAC, but this promised great coverage, which I certainly need at times (you know what I mean girls). I also purchased Benefit's That Gal brightening face primer as recommended by TiffanyD. I can't wait to test it out as I have not had great luck with primers thus far!

Finally the MAC BBR collection has launched in the UK! To be honest, I was not overwhelmed. The eyeshadows, lipsticks and lipglasses were not very special and nothing really screamed "buy me!!". However, I did get the 226 brush, which I have been looking forward to for far too long. Just perfect for the crease! Yay!! I also liked the MSFs, especially the redhead one, so I may pop back and get that at a later date.

The cremesheen collection has also launched today and I was very excited to see it as the colours looked very yummy! I got 'ever so rich', a beautiful milky pink with a hint of lavender. I have been wearing it today, but am not too sure how I like it. The pigmentation is pretty po
or and does not show up on me too well, also it did not seem to last very long. However, the formulation is very different to other MAC lipglosses. It is not at all sticky and feels very light and smooth on the lips. It reminds me a lot of Bourjois' Eau de Gloss Cosmic. So for those of you who hate sticky lipglosses, this is the gloss for you, though Bourjois is about half the price.
I also puchased two eyeshadows, Digit and Cobalt. I guess I was in a purple mood ;). What do you guys think of BBR?

much love,
Natalya
