OOTD: Hey Shortie

Not much of a preamble to go with this outfit... I bought these little shorts in H&M in the hope that summer would stick around. Since the weather hasn't been co-operating lately I paired them with a cozy cashmere jumper. In this period of seasonal transition (though let's face it we never really had a summer) it's fun to mix things up - jumpers with wedges, summer dresses with thick, black tights... I'm crazy like that ;).
Cashmere Jumper - Milan boutique, Shorts: H&M £14.99 here, Ballet flats: Primark.

These come with a cute little black faux leather belt, but I chose not to wear it to accentuate the bow detail and cut of the sweater.
I am guessing from the above these are meant to fall lower on the leg, but as my Beyonce-esque thighs fill them out they look very mini on me... the trials of being tall hehe ;).

Are you braving short shorts? Despite all the magazines trying to convince me that shorts are an appropriate attire for the office (tights optional) I am staying well away from that trend! xxx

OOTD: Tangerine

I'm not sure if it's just me, but from my brief jaunt 'up north' I have discovered 3 things.. The tans are deeper, the hair is bigger and the shoes are definitely higher! Saturday nights in Liverpool are a very glam affair so when in Rome...
Dress: H&M, Shoes: Dorothy Perkins, Watch: Michael Kors, Clutch: Mulberry.

I need to invest in some bigger platforms for my next trip.. giraffe style ;)!
I hope everyone had a good bank holiday weekend! xxx

OOTD: Jump into a jumpsuit

For a fun lunch date this weekend I decided to go all 70s in a jumpsuit and super chunky heels.
Jumpsuit: H&M, Square Ring: Oasis, Wedges: New Look

Makeup wise I kept the eyes and cheeks neutral and chose a statement red lippie (mix of Beaute Fever stain, Bourjois and MAC Russian Red lipsticks) to accent the green of the jumpsuit. The stain lasted so well throughout the day that I only needed to reapply once.
Maxie was trying to get in on the photo action... but mummy was having none of it ;).

Are you embracing the 70s look? I can't say I am a huge fan, but it's fun to have a little play(suit)! xxx

OOTD: Colour blocking pleats

I'm sure you've all seen the glossies quoting 'colour blocking',  'pleats' and 'clashing colours' as the must have trends this season, so I shall keep it short and sweet. I spotted this cute pink and peachy pink two tone skirt in H&M a few months ago and immediately snapped it up. It's so easy to wear and quickly ticks all the style boxes in one.

Vest: Zara, Scarf: Miss Selfridge, Skirt: H&M, Ballet pumps: HK market, Bag: Aspinal of London.

I found this photo on the web that shows the colour more accurately than my over enthusiasically colour saturated iphone...

Pleats are not the easiest thing to pull off as the extra inches of material can add, well just that... So keep it high waisted and streamlined - I like to wear the size up to make sure all the pleats fall flat and the skirt retains its original shape.

What trends are you wearing this summer? xxx

OOTD: Two days of Summer

With the glorious sunshine of the last few days it was time to dust off my Summer wardrobe. Let's just hope the warm spell lasts and is not once again replaced by the depressing drizzle of the last few weeks.

On Saturday I attended the Aussie haircare wrap party, so chose a maxi dress that would be easy and comfortable to wear.
Colourblock Dress: Pearl (on sale at ASOS here). Pearl coin and gold necklace: Banana Republic. Rose Gold Watch: Michael Kors.

Sunday was a quiet day with a few errands to run and lots of e-mails to catch up on so I skipped the makeup and instead injected some colour in this tropical print jumpsuit.
Jumpsuit: H&M. Shoes: Dorothy Perkins (On sale here).

Hope you all enjoyed the sunshine! xxx

Take Me Baby.. Or Leave Me

With the gorgeous sunshine we have been blessed with this bank holiday weekend a few drives around the countryside with the latest Glee album on repeat were a must. I haven't even seen the musical Rent, but while humming along to the lyrics this morning.. "a tiger in a cage can never see the sun, this diva needs her stage, baby lets have fun" I decided that it was time my inner leopard was set free ;).
The jumpsuit and belt are both from H&M, and were purchased in anticipation of Spring a few months ago. As I'm tall I always struggle to find jumpsuits that are long enough in the legs, but this one was easy to customise as it is already quite loose fitting. I decided to pull it up a little (baggy bottoms are never flattering!) to create a 3/4 length trouser and wear the top off the shoulder.
Tan leather shoes are from my beloved Kurt Geiger.
This gorgeous nude patent Barbarella leather bag from Aspinal of London was a very recent purchase. I decided to treat myself after finishing my exams and thought this would make a perfect splurge for the Summer!
Accessories were kept pretty simple. I wore sunglasses from Dior, a bangle from Disney Couture with the inscription "Think of a wonderful thought" and a cream leather and gold cuff sent to me by the lovely Elizabeth from Lash Royalty.
For makeup I stuck to natural peachy tones. I used MUFE HD foundation, NARS laguna bronzer, MAC Ripe Peach blush, Estee Lauder Pure Pops Creme Eyeshadow (sadly no name or number on the tube, but it's their only warm gold colour), Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Whiskey,  L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes mascara (waterproof) and Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfecter in No.2.

As the title of this post suggests, leopard print jumpsuits will not be for everyone! I spent most of my teenage years dressing like my friends and was never without my jeans. Now I just wear whatever makes me feel happy. I think if you feel confident and comfortable, no matter how outlandish or simple your outfit, you can carry it off with style!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend my lovelies! xxx
